ATC Simulator Training Center of TCC

Simulation-Based Training

Training and Certification Center offers the following types of simulation-based training:

  • Simulatorbased training is the training that replicates substantial aspects of real-traffic patterns in a fully interactive fashion. It includes briefing, de-briefing and expert opinion, if necessary;
  • Computer-based training is the human-computer interaction in the form of questions, comments, instructions and assessment of learner’s performance. This type of simulation training involves data collecting, analysing and extrapolating it against the required standards.

There is a wide selection of simulation training options:

  • Individual-based simulation training – real-time performance of the training scenarios by one learner;
  • Team-based simulation training – real-time performance of the training scenarios by several learners. The team consists of two or more learners who are to demonstrate teamwork skills in the operational environments;
  • Group-based simulation training – real-time performance of the training scenarios involving personnel for simultaneous carrying out specified individual or team multi-tasks.

ATC Radar (RAD) Simulator

RAD is a Surveillance Radar Simulator that:

  • Is configured for radar and non-radar procedural training in all facets of IFR + VFR in the controlled ATS airspace;
  • Includes configurable flight progress strips with batch printing;
  • Simulates various radar information/data for the aerodrome, terminal area and en-route control environment;
  • Can be integrated with the Aerodrome Control Tower Simulator;
  • Has a variety of scenarios and variable complexity.

ATC Tower (TWR) Simulator with Aerodrome Traffic Display

3D-TOWER is a high-fidelity ATC simulator that:

  • Generates the immersive operational environment;
  • Ranges from 180-degree to fully enclosed 360-degree field of view;
  • Has a rare projection system;
  • Has a VRS (Voice Recognition System);
  • Supports aerodrome ground control traffic display;
  • Has a variety of scenarios and variable complexity.

ATC Simulator “Aerotehnika”

Simulator provides possibility for training in all flight information regions. The structure of simulator airspace contains a description of static characteristics, such as:

  • Management sector;
  • Airfields;
  • Waiting areas;
  • Pids;
  • Routs and others.

During the training, simulator provides simulation of:

  • Radar data sources as part of
    • primary radars;
    • secondary radars;
    • automatic radio;
  • Weather information;
  • Air traffic;
  • Maintenance of aircraft information sources;
  • “air – ground” channel.

The processing radar information, corresponds to information processing in the AATCS. The structure and function of software specific workplace radar controller, manager of planning, communication server correspond to the structure and functions of the AATCS. Course exercises (radar data, remote operation and radio communications) are documented.

Other organizations have the opportunity to rent the control simulator to train its own staff.

EUROCONTROL Synthetic Device Training – Radar Skills Trainer (RST)

Radar Skills Trainer (RST) is an advanced tool, developed and designed by EUROCONTROL, that:

  • Is intended for basic training of Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs);
  • Enables users to perform pre-simulation (Part Task Practice or Skill Acquisition);
  • Provides a lifelike environment for training in On-the-Job Training Instructor (OJTI) skills;
  • Includes “hands-on” exercises to support ATCOs basic training and OJTI training.
